How does a vocal remover work?
In almost every professionally mixed song, the lead vocal sits dead-centre in the stereo image — identical in the left and right channels. Loopin Vocal Remover separates the centre of your track from the sides, removes the vocal range from the centre, and rebuilds the song around it. The parts of the centre that aren't vocals — the kick and bass below the voice, the cymbal air above it — are kept, so the instrumental still feels full instead of hollow.
Instrumental vs acapella
The instrumental is your song with the centred vocal removed — ideal for karaoke, writing a new topline, performing live or making a remix bed. The acapella is the opposite: the isolated centre of the mix, band-limited to the vocal range. It's rough by nature — centred instruments like snare can bleed in — but it's instantly useful as a reference, a sample or a remix sketch.
Why is there sometimes a "ghost" of the vocal?
Reverb and delay on a vocal are usually stereo, so they live in the sides of the mix — which is exactly what a centre-channel remover keeps. That faint ambience is normal for instant separation, and it usually disappears under a new vocal. Tracks with hard-panned or doubled vocals separate less cleanly; standard pop, hip-hop and acoustic mixes work best. And it has to be a stereo file — on a mono mix there is no centre/side information to separate.
Private by design
Unlike most vocal remover sites, Loopin never uploads your audio. The whole separation runs in your browser using the Web Audio engine — the same approach as Loopin Mastering and the Key & BPM Finder. Drop in an unreleased demo without thinking twice. When you're done, the download is a clean 24-bit WAV.

Vocal removal, answered
How do I remove vocals from a song?
Drop your MP3 or WAV into Loopin Vocal Remover, press play to hear the instrumental instantly, adjust the vocal reduction if you like, then download the instrumental WAV. Free and instant.
Is it really free?
Yes — free, with no account or sign-up.
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser — your track is never uploaded, shared or stored. Most other vocal removers send your song to their servers.
Can I get the acapella too?
Yes — preview and download a rough acapella. Because it's the centre of the mix, some centred instruments (like snare) may remain. It works great as a reference or remix sketch.
Why do I still hear a ghost of the vocal?
Stereo reverb and delay on the vocal live in the sides of the mix, so a faint ambience can remain. That's normal for instant separation — it usually disappears under a new vocal performance.
What files work?
MP3 and WAV (plus most formats your browser can decode). The track must be stereo — separation is impossible on a mono file.
What can I use the instrumental for?
Karaoke, writing your own topline, live performance backing, practice and remix sketches. For released music, make sure you have the rights to use the original recording.
