Cassette isn't just a nostalgic format choice — it has real physical limitations, particularly around dynamic range and top-end frequency response, that are worth mastering around deliberately.

## Dynamic range is genuinely more limited

Tape has a narrower usable dynamic range than digital formats, and pushing extreme dynamics onto cassette can result in quiet passages sinking into tape hiss while loud passages saturate unpredictably. A more moderate, controlled dynamic range translates more reliably to tape than a wide-open master built for streaming.
